Course objectives

Main objective of this course is to encourage student to critically think about and explore consciousness, and to explore experiences and behaviours linked to the changes in consciousness.

Learning outcomes

After the completion of the course students will be able to:

  1. Understanding the complexity of the term consciousness, and its relations with other similar terms used in psychological theories and research.
  2. Understanding and recognising various altered states of consciousness and its psychological and neurophysiological frame.
  3. Recognition and differentiation of various altered states of consciousness induced by different techniques and substances.
  4. Validation of the research in the field of psychology of consciousness
